Why We Created Yao Base Camp!

Yao Base Camp was born from a simple idea – to create a place where people can come close to nature without going too far from the city, and still enjoy comfort, warmth and good food.

When we first saw this land below Bhatta Fall – the river just below, the open green spaces and clear views of Dehradun and Mussoorie – it felt like the perfect base camp for every kind of traveller. Families looking for time together, youngsters wanting a fun break, and groups seeking a focused wellness or corporate retreat – all can find their own space here.

We are passionate about hospitality and we are honest about our goal: we want to build a resort that guests love to return to, and that also sustains itself as a strong, long-term business. Every season, every group and every retreat teaches us something new, and we keep improving.

When guests leave Yao Base Camp, we want them to carry fond memories of evenings in the lush greens, laughter around the bonfire, the sound of the river, and the quiet sense of having taken a real break from routine life.
